Sophie and Turbo: A Bunny Love Story

It was obvious because Turbo was social, curious and playful. Then he started to lag with social and playful ness but I think he became depressed. Bun’s can get depressed! Turbo would sit in his open cage facing the wall with his butt facing the people. Turbo has always been 100% indoor and mostly free range.
I knew he needed a girlfriend and I finally did it.

February 2025, I rescued Sophie from an eccentric pet store in Portland. She came pretty dirty but very sweet and loved to be held… So, I left the house to get an oil change and came home with Turbo’s new girlfriend…Miss Sophie

This is Sophie. Sophie is less than half the size of turbo with twice the spice. We rescued Turbo during Covid. Turbo was happy and great as an only Bun for a few years. Then one day it changed, he wanted a companion.

The introduction was intense. I had an idea of what to expect but wasn’t prepared to watch a 4 pound black bunny try and hump a healthy 8.5 pound bunny. This was something. For weeks they would chase each other around and hump each other. It was anyone’s guess who would be the dominant bunny. After over a year together I can confidently say I think it’s Sophie!

Turbo is constantly grooming Sophie and sharing everything with her whether he wants to or not. Sophie has no problem taking a treat right out of Turbo’s mouth and running away. Sophie is a savage 😎 Yes Turbo will chase her and his treat but he can’t slither under the couch like Ms. Sophie. And I’ve never seen him take his treat back from Sophie.

Whenever we see Sophie grooming Turbo we coo like new, happy parents. Look, Sophie is loving her lover boy we call Turbo. 🐰❤️

The burning question is do we get a third bun?
